New Director: Liz Moran

Liz Moran has been appointed a director of Darling Associates.

Chris Darling commented ‘ I have worked with Liz during our days at Hamilton Associates and was delighted when she joined the practice in 2010. Since then he has earned the respect of clients and colleagues, and we are very pleased that she will be joining the board and making a major contribution over the coming years’.

23.09.11 Award for One Hyde Park

One Hyde Park wins  in The Daily Telegraph British Homes Build Quality Awards 2011. The scheme has been names Best Multi-Storey Development, and also the Chairman’s Award.

The Daily Telegraph British Homes Awards recognise and endorse build quality  in construction and design, highlghting those schemes that best achieve the creative aspirations of the architects.

210 Pentonville Road shortlisted for 3Rs Award

Darling Associates have been shortlisted for our work on 210 Pentonville Road office refurbishment in the 3Rs Awards. The shortlist can be viewed here, and the winner will be announced on the 10 November 2011 at an event in Kensington.

08.07.11 – Shepherd Street planning approval

Our scheme for Shepherd Street was approved by Westminster’s planning committee last night, with the design being highly praised. The scheme comprises three new townhouses, plus an egg-shaped underground house. We have a 9m face to face dimension which was accepted, and Code 4 with a £500k off-site affordable provision.

19.05.11 – AJ 100 Awards

Darling Associates were announced ‘clear winner’ in the category for best practice in the London & South East Regional Award last night at The AJ100 Awards ceremony in London.

We were also Highly Commended in the national Employer of the Year award. We were praised for our ‘enlightened credentials’, our diversity in recruitment policies, and good employment policies at our heart. In particular it was noted we had the highest female
to male ratio in the top 100 – 65% female: including a director and all of our associates.

27.07.11 Planning consent for Apex, Ealing

Planning permission by Ealing Council to demolish the outdated Westel House building in Ealing and replace it with Apex, a brand new hotel and residential development of iconic design by Darling Associates. The striking scheme will feature three buildings - the tallest of which will be up to 21 storeys with a viewing platform where residents can overlook the magnificent views of Ealing and beyond to central London. The development at 58 Uxbridge Road will feature 131 residential units, a nine-storey four-star hotel, a children’s play area, car park facilities and a landscaped boulevard frontage.
