Ian’s expertise in the construction industry spans over forty years. His formative years were spent with national contractors in the UK and US specialising in ‘design construct’ in its infancy.

From 1971 to 1984 Ian was Construction Director of a residential and commercial property development company, after which he formed Total Project Integration Ltd, a project management business working for developers, Pension Funds and owner-occupiers until his retirement in 2004.

He joined Darling Associates in 2006 as non-executive Chairman with particular responsibility for business strategy but his wide experience of design and construction procurement and delivery on many diverse projects supports all Darling commissions.
