All staff are encouraged to put forward ideas and develop specialisms within the practice operations. We also encourage our team to present current work at Project Evenings, giving them an opportunity to improve their public speaking skills. Everyone’s views are heard in this forum and involvement from all staff is encouraged.
The practice accommodates requirements for further training or gaining practical experience by providing on-the-job guidance as well as an appropriate and carefully designed CPD programme, including English language lessons for the oversees employees.
The values and ambition of the practice are clearly defined, allowing staff to have confidence in being able to grow, advance, and satisfy their professional needs.
Additionally, a majority of staff are part of the decision making process and less senior members of the team are invited to attend project meetings.
As a result of this, the quality of work increases and the atmosphere in the office is positive. Our directors actively manage work load and discourage late working. When there are deadlines, we meet them and work late if required, but fundamentally we encourage our staff to have a life outside of work.
This fosters energy and enthusiasm in our team members and a low staff turnover for the practice. Many of our employees joined in the first years of the practice’s founding and they have found in Darling Associates the perfect place to develop and further themselves as architects.
