Salmon Harvester Properties has submitted a detailed planning application for a mixed-use development on a prominent site in Glasgow city centre.
SHP, a joint venture company between Salmon Developments and NFU Mutual, is proposing to demolish existing buildings on the corner of Argyle Street and Miller Street and replace them with a nine- storey development. The building, which will be designed by architects Darling Associates, includes a managed 132-bed student accommodation with 5,683 sq ft of amenity space on first, second, third and roof levels, plus 5,209 sq ft of retail space at ground floor and basement level.
Adjacent to Debenhams, the site is close to the St Enoch Shopping Centre and Buchanan Street, Glasgow’s main shopping area. It will have an end value of £18m. Rorie Henderson, development director at Salmon Harvester Properties, said: “This application proposes a high quality development in a prominent and sustainable location. It is a superb investment opportunity which will attract further economic activity to this part of Glasgow’s principal retail area and deliver much needed student accommodation.”
